Talk’s Cheap was the debut EP by London,Ontario punk band The Demics and was released in 1979. It was the record that gave birth to Ready Records. The EP’s first single “New York City” was put into heavy rotation on CFNY in Toronto and had great success at campus radio stations from coast to coast. This single went on to be named the greatest Canadian song of all time in a 1996 reader’s poll by Canadian music magazine Chart.
